Previously, I held the position of a Controller of Energy (Oil, Gas, Power) Vertical of Essar Group.I was responsible for rendering services for local and international accounting issues, transaction advisory to various entities and share cordial relationship with reputed accounting, valuation and law firms in India, Mauritius and UK. In Essar, I have handled multifarious IFRS / Ind AS implementation, provided transaction advisory for wider business groups of Essar in India and abroad.In my capacity as a energy business controller, I assisted CFOs of underlying business namely Power, Oil and E&P in various transactions by hand holding them in analysing implications under companies act, Ind AS and Tax. I separately had a responsibility to manage financial reporting, board meetings, cash flows, tax planning for overseas SPVs that hold various businesses in India and abroad. Distinguished M&A contributions:I actively contributed in Essar Energy Plc’s $ 2 billion listing on London Stock Exchange in May 2010. I carry an added experience of accounting for various internal reorganizations as well as external Mergers & Acquisitions. I actively contributed in $ 12.8 billion Essar Oil Limited stake sale transaction to Rosneft & Trafigura which initiated in Oct 2015 and closed in 2017 and controlling the escrow and running true up process. Recently have been a part of Port carve out transaction valued at $ 1 billion, where the role was to assess implications under IFRS 15, IFRS 16 and Tax ie CGT, SDLT and Share stamp, for a UK entity. With the promulgation of the new Insolvency & Bankruptcy Code, I gained understanding of the implications of the code from the view of Company itself, Claimant and also as a potential bidder. Have fair understanding on eligibility criteria, business plan, role of a resolution professional, drafting a resolution plan, working on bidding structures keeping in mind the MAT and tax implications, shareholders agreement, etc.

I have worked on accounting and reporting under Indian GAAP, IFRS and US GAAP for audit clients of Deloitte in India and abroad. Considering my interest and performance on a UK listing Company, i was nominated for a just in time secondments to UK and Canada during my short stint at Deloitte. During the period, my audit clients included large multinational corporations of India, UK and Canada. I also actively led the US$ 2 billion US IPO for Sterlite Industries Limited, while I was a manager directly reporting to my Partner in Deloitte and gained rich experience of learning from US councels, lawyers and Deloitte US partners during the IPO exercise.
