Sanil Sansar spent few years in Dr. Tina Gumienny’s laboratory as a visiting Ph.D. student to use the model system in place in the lab (C. elegans). He studied the implication of different proteins for proper localization/functions of a neuronal surface protein named Neurexin. I had the opportunity to help Sanil in his research, for over a year, by helping him with few molecular techniques and protocols. He showed always great attention and focus to details. Sanil is always willing to help to improve the work environment for his colleagues. He is a great team player, he helped us cleaning and reorganizing part of our facilities, and volunteered to develop basic daily protocols for everybody in the lab. I also had the chance to observe his professional skills. Moreover, he brought at work a positive attitude with his enthusiasm and friendship. I would recommend my colleague Sanil Sansar, for employment. Any company or university should be happy to have him in its team. Lionel Faure, Ph.D.
Tina Gumienny
Recommendation, continued: I could see the sixth grade students responded well to Sanil’s enthusiasm and his patient responses to their questions. Although these are rather intense days, at the end he was energized by his interactions with the students. This speaks to his ability to lead and serve with authenticity a wide range of people. He is a low-drama person, which I appreciate. I could count on him to be there when expected, to be prepared, to do what needs to be done when it needs to be done - and done well, to contribute to our projects intellectually, and to represent the lab well in the department, the university, and at conferences. He will have a positive impact on any group he joins. He is a stellar individual. If you have any other questions or need clarification, please feel free to contact me.
