  I worked in Dr. Kim Williamson's lab with Plasmodium falciparum and Plasmodium berghei. I was the acting lab manager and was in charge of keeping the lab organized and running smoothly.I worked on cell culturing Torin 2 resistant lines in P. falciparum to identify how Torin 2 affects the sexual reproduction mechanism. I also prepared mice for oocyte assays by infecting them with P. berghei and tracking their infection, and harvesting blood for assays.

  I worked on preparing a high throughput of clinical samples for Sanger sequencing as well as doing preliminary data analysis using a program called Sequencher. I also used plasma to do single genome amplification. I was also in charge of doing daily maintenance of our Applied Biosystems 3730xl instrument.
