Project Wonderlands is an umbrella name for my side-project which is a small body of environmental art works and public commissions exploring nature-based art in urban environments. There are usually 1/2 small-scale projects a year and this ongoing research-based work started in 2015 after a career break after 7 years in a fast-paced fashion industry and as a response to the emotional, physiological and psychological impacts from the lack of nature connection in today’s urban environments. By working outdoors, with nature-based materials or on nature-based themes, these environmental art 'as' therapy projects and workshops aim to connect the dots between nature, art and therapy. Multi-faceted p/t role working for a growing social enterprise and vital community green space in busy East London, creating and curating compelling visual content as an in-house photographer and picture editor. Working both independently and collaboratively to bring awareness and communicate the organisation’s history, shared goals, work and values through visual storytelling. Producing impactful photo stories and holistic content for various digital platforms including social media, website platforms, print publicity, marketing purposes and for national press regularly including regularly The Guardian, Hackney Gazzette, Garden's Illustrated and Conde Nast Traveller. As part of an evolving digital content strategy I have developed, curated and managed a garden blog to share the wider use of the garden as a community organisation. A key development has been working with metadata managing and setting up a brand new Resource Space DAM library for the garden at the start of lockdown, organising and transferring 10 years of key photographic assets for future use. Recently projects include producing visual content to strengthen lockdown communications with real-time video and photo storytelling whilst the garden was closed. Also collaboratively developing a campaign around a re-opening Crowdfunder and 10 years to celebrate the garden with a social portraiture series in development since 2017 capturing people and stories from those who use the garden past and present. Connecting with a broad range of collaborators including local artists, art organisations, local councilors, social-sector and horticultural organisations on various creative project developments including a collaborative ceramics project for the garden by Central Saint Martins final year students. Special projects include facilitating nature-based art workshops, working on primary school programmes and with groups of Older people and disadvantaged adults. Show less
