Software Engineering and Technology Intern
-
Jan 2021 - Present
Currently, I'm aiding Certif-A-Gift in the transition to a new host server for their item orders, tracking, invoicing, etc in order to move away from the outdated IBM iseries that's currently in use. In the past I've led various projects of intern groups where I was responsible for setting project boundaries, creating procedures, separating and teaching steps of the processes to group members, coordinating with various departments, ensuring timely progress, and meeting with supervising coworkers regarding the plan of action. I continue to assist the IT team in maintaining various hardware and software company-wide systems and lend support to all Certif-A-Gift employees in areas such as programming, analytics, data management, and security. Additionally I've streamlined manual operations by developing executables and procedures. For example, I created a script to prepare folders of images for upload onto the company’s website then made a simple procedure to add the compressed executable to the file explorer’s context menu. In this role, I worked on developing strong interpersonal and communication skills while working with peers and aiding camper development. I particularly enjoyed growing these skills while working with large groups and campers with disabilities. I was responsible for ensuring the safety of 10-14 person camper groups, aged between 7 and 14, while planning, executing, and supervising whole camp activities.
