Steans Center for Community-based LearningActed as a liaison between partnering Chicago land non-for-profit organizations, the Steans Center, and students enrolled in Service Learning courses.Worked with assigned organizations and directly supervised 20-25 service learning students, with a new rotation of students and organizations arising at each new academic quarter.Made weekly calls/emails to students and site representatives, and conducted site visits to ensure that the service learning experience was mutually beneficial to both the organization and the student.Organized a tour of DePaul University for high school students. In doing so, I contacted speakers, reserved classrooms, created the itinerary, and organized co-workers to head groups for the tour. DePaul University Center for Writing-based Learning Tutored undergraduate and graduate students in all facets of the writing process, from invention to revision. These consisted to emailed papers, Instant messaging forums, and face to face tutorials. Opened or closed the Center and prepared the work stations, scheduled appointments, handled phone calls and emailed queries addressed to the Writing Center.Attended and created in-house workshops pertaining to various qualms about collegiate tutoring, such as how to negotiate tutoring in groups and how to conduct effective sessions with Foreign Language students. Worked as a Supplemental Instructor for a Summer Writing, Rhetoric, and Discourse course for incoming freshman. In this position, I conferred with the professor about her substance of the course, attended weekly meetings, and created a lesson plan for one weekly class session with the students. Show less
