Facilitate school-wide PBIS program with the goal of improving school climate, reducing behavior incidents, and improving academic achievement. Create, design, and implement training programs providing professional development that contributes to the educational and classroom management success of teachers. Responsible for launching a New Teacher Academy in my current school. The academy meets weekly with the goal of training all new teachers on various software programs utilized within the school and the district, and training teachers on various routines and procedures that include understanding IEP's, attendance procedures, and grading policies. Teamed with a co-worker to prepare a $500,000 SpringBoard® academy grant for Clark County District approval. Facilitated district professional development training for Common Core State Standards and Nevada Growth Model. Compare and analyze growth and academic trends establishing a baseline for Tier II academic intervention increasing academic achievement by 76% in Pre-Algebra and 86% in Math 8. My ultimate role was to create and implemented self-contained full-year independent study units designed to correlate with school curriculum in a one-month time-period. I also had the opportunity to design a web-based Middle School Business Foundations Course for Virtual High School using Blackboard Academic Suite 8.3 in the fall of 2009 and instructed the web-based course in the spring of 2010, managing a class of 20 students in an on-line environment. To increase the number of independent study units available to credit recovery students, I researched, designed, and implemented advanced math, Chemistry and additional full-year elective study units designed to meet state standards and student credits needed for graduation requirements. My ability to motivate high school students and help them create a vision for the future resulted in a 20% high school graduation rate increase in 2009-2010 school years. Show less
