I teach ballet at the university and conservatory level, choreograph regionally, and instruct dance, yoga and water exercise locally. I share my administrative skills on a voluntary basis, but am looking to be more gainfully employed at the executive level with the skillset acquired from 16 years running a non profit I founded and directed. • Founding Artistic and Executive Director
      • Jul 1998 - Jun 2014

I founded this contemporary ballet ensemble to educate and diversify the audience for contemporary ballet. For sixteen seasons, I choreographed and presented work to a growing minority majority community with relevant content, with our signature Black History Month Series, featuring the history, music, art, and pride of my American heritage. Later we presented James Sewell's choreography of Amahl and the Night Visitors, which incorporated American Sign Language into the dancing of this holiday operetta in English, and Si Se Puede, dances based on the legacy of Cesar Chavez, celebrating our Latino communities. We presented a Sacred Dance Series in worship venues, performed site specific works with museums and outdoor spaces, collaborating with over three dozen other entities. EVSODC brought hundreds of children and families to see their first ballet experience in a theatre, and had some form of audience participation, as well as a talkback after every performance. We employed 110 dances artists, fundraised over a half a million dollars, and created over 100 ballets in our sixteen years of programming. Show less
