I developed strong working relationships with the campus unions and regional officers. I also had responsibility for developing policies and procedures from inception through to obtaining board level approval and rolling them out across the organisation. I was also the Equality and Diversity Manager, Child Protection Officer and led the Anti Bullying and harassment panel for many years. I then took on a series of other more challenging and strategic corporate roles. I led the University's job evaluation project which evaluated the role of every employee, created a series of new job families and modelled new salary and grading schemes. This was a two year project with a university-wide team which involved much work with unions and great communication with staff and managers. This was part of a wider project within the HE sector so involved liasing at national level with other universities. I was responsible for researching, authoring, and negotiating the University's Partnership Agreement with the unions and for facilitating the creation of the JNCC. I was Committee secretary to a number of Committees including the HR Committee and its HR Strategy working group, numerous individual trade union negotiating committees and the JNCC. I took a lead role in working with the campus trade unions in order to re-negotiate a variety of Conditions of Service. I project managed the launch of the Staff Survey, from inception to results feedback and outcome response to staff. This involved managing a team of staff, union representatives and managers from across the University and working with consultants to agree the questions, communication and feedback and analysis.
