    • AVID Tutor and Activities Coordinator
      • Sep 2008 - Jun 2010

As an AVID tutor it was my responsibility to incorporate group learning and successful retention of our students towards their academic classes. In order to do so, students would be paired in groups of 3-5 to ask higher level questions and use each other as resources to discover their own answers. As a tutor, I would facilitate this through asking probing questions as well as grading tutorial request forms for accuracy. As the Activities Coordinator, it was my responsibility to organize the AVID Student Council in order for the events decision making to be in the hands of the students. We managed to organize and attend Six Flags Magic Mountain, our own local park Potluck Family Appreciation Luncheon and the end of the year AVID Senior Banquet. Show less
