The project involved the development and implementation of a system which would enable academics to mark the assessments on their personal devices offline. The system enabled the migration of a paper-based process flow of the assessment procedure into a paper-less one. The system included, a segmented local server from where the academics could download the submitted coursework and upload the marked coursework. The system had the facility of sending automated personalized emails to the academics notifying them when the coursework is ready for collection and when it is due. Once the marked coursework is uploaded back to the server, the system would automatically send out personalized emails to each student (for some modules the number of students could be over 100) notifying them of the result and also create a management spreadsheet for the departmental administration team. Was involved in all the steps of the system life cycle, from requirements gathering from the administration team and the academics, design of the whole process flow, development, testing and implementation of the system. The primary scripting language used for the automation was PERL. Show less
