Head Biosignal Analysis and Digital Health
-
Jun 2020 - Present
In our specialist group "Biosignal Analysis & Digital Health", we focus on the entire value chain in the area of sensors, data and health. The appropriate interaction of technology, organization and people is central to success. One promising topic, for example, is patient monitoring in hospitals using wristbands that measure the most important vital signs. Targeted, early warning signals can offer decisive added value in the often resource-strained situations. For this to succeed, the sensor technology and data analysis must first be tailored to the clinical context. Algorithms and artificial intelligence are often used here. Equally relevant is the appropriate design of the technology in relation to organizational processes and the needs of the specialists. The best algorithm is of no use if the automatically generated warning does not reach the appropriate recipient at the right time! Here we commit ourselves to the philosophy of "Human-Centered Design" to guarantee the maximum benefit of the technology. Accordingly, the research group feels committed to both topics: Biosignal Analysis & Digital Health. Show less

Head Algorithm Development
-
Jun 2017 - Mar 2020
In charge to set up a data science team providing algorithms and data analysis for the whole company. I initiated the use of IoT tech for R&D field research and played a key role in developing the first prototypes for cloud-based data collection. I led the development of a customer cloud solution for a connected outdoor air quality monitor.

Head R&D Gas Sensor Applications
-
Nov 2013 - Jun 2017
Setting up a team with 6 employees to explore the potential of the novel VOC sensor technology. We started off in unexplored terrain of consumer-oriented and field-based application engineering. I introduced lean innovation methods to efficiently progress in the open problem setting. As a result we developed a portfolio of ideas such as air quality, food freshness and breath quality. We optimized the use cases in field using IoT devices, modified smart phones and even a test car.

Head R&D Gasflow Services
-
Dec 2010 - Nov 2013
Implementation of the research results with a team of 4 employees: Development of calibration facilities. Programming and testing calibration algorithms. Integration into production processes. Today, every gas flow product goes through a calibration procedure based on these algorithms.

-
R&D Gas Flow Engineer
-
Jan 2007 - Nov 2010
Research on advanced modeling challenges for flow sensors: Through analytical, simulation, and data analysis work, I developed a quantitative model describing flow, temperature, and gas dependence. The results enabled sensor performance optimization, calibrations for dangerous gases, and the entering in the gas meter market.
