Sam operated as the product owner of our cross domain solution product line. This involved managing scope and schedule of the team, cost account managing and bidding for multiple programs. Sam did a great job of managing his team and managing expectations of our internal customers. One of his biggest accomplishments was his effort on a bid for a clean sheet CDS program. He was the main bidder and it required working late nights for multiple weeks and working with several departments to define the architecture. As a result, we were awarded the bid. This wouldn’t have happened without Sam's support. As he continued to work with me, I lumped more responsibility on Sam. He stepped up to meet the demand. Overall, Sam is a strong leader. He is friendly and a pleasure to work with. He is detail oriented and takes time to understand the problem before moving forward. This enables him to be assigned multiple tasks. He also has the technical background to communicate effectively with his team and earn their trust. Sam would be a great addition to any team.

I have had the pleasure of working with Sam for 4 years at Collins Aerospace. Sam was one of the most knowledgeable Senior Software Engineers of our team, and he also served as the team's Product Owner. Sam possesses many strengths as an engineer, as a Product Owner, and as a colleague. As an engineer, Sam has excellent problem-solving and analytical thinking skills. He can be presented with any problem and be able to think of an effective solution. Sam also has a very logical way of thinking and he always makes sure he is thorough in his work. When I first joined the team as a new graduate, I remember being especially grateful at his ability to explain very complex topics in a clear and straightforward manner. As Product Owner, Sam continuously demonstrated a lot of dedication, hard-work, flexibility, and strong leadership and technical skills. Despite the large number of programs that our team was supporting, Sam always had a strong handle on what our involvement as a team entailed. No matter how heavy his workload was, his dedication and positive attitude never wavered. And finally, as a colleague, Sam has always been very supportive of his teammates and is always willing to help others when needed. He is also very personable and connects with others very easily. These are just a few of the many reasons that make Sam such an amazing teammate and engineer, and I consider myself extremely lucky to have had the opportunity of working alongside him and learning from him. I am certain that Sam will be a great asset to any team that he joins!
