Working as Activity Leader at Goldsmiths University of London, Christs Hospital School and Oundle School broadened my working experience due to the roles I had to take including: - Looking after the wellbeing of 8-17 year old students - Running tours of key landmarks in London and Cambridge sharing historical facts with the pupils - Organising and running activities including, sports, crafts and evening events These role were predominantly undertaken during summers for 6 week contracted periods. Having worked at two different summer centres has given me a broad experience of this role with one being an excursion based centre and the other being an onsite activity based centre. This has given me the skills to take on any challenge that may arise and I was prepared to take on any role that was required of me. Furthermore, I took on this role during the COVID-19 pandemic in which we were responsible for running camps within boarding schools with students still present. This was run prior to the 2021 school term for those students required to quarantine for 2 weeks before the term, as well as during the may half term for those students unable to return to their home country. These 2 camps required strong adherence and understanding of COVID restriction within an education setting. Show less

      • Sep 2020 - Dec 2020

Working as the Mens 7th Team coach during the pandemic has given a good insight on how to vary coaching styles and activities to cater for social distancing rules. It has encouraged me to think outside of the box and collaborate with other coaches to be able to create the best activities for learning within the constrains of restrictions. As well as this role, I have also aided the coaching of the 2nd Team in the first semester of training, learning and developing my coaching skills at a higher performance level. Unfortunately due to COVID-19, restrictions to hockey occurred and so this role was no longer possible from 2021. Although limited, the experience I have had in this role has added to my knowledge of coaching and helping people better themselves within sport. Show less

      • Sep 2019 - Apr 2020

As the 1st team mens hockey coach at the University of Roehampton I have gained valuable knowledge of people management due to the huge range in playing ability with players having never picked up a hockey stick to those who have been playing for 10 years. With the wide gap in ability development of appropriate training to cater for all was crucial, as well as create smaller targeted sessions to benefit each ability level seperately. During the 2019/2020 season following an unbeaten league season the team secured promotion into tier 3 with 2 games to spare. Show less

Shadowing the Sports Science team at Warwickshire CCC and Birmingham Bears has given me an insight into how a professional sports team develops their players into better athletes. I shadowed each of the three departments at the club, strength and conditioning, physiotherapy and performance analysis over one week. Even during this short period of time I manged to gain new techniques and ways to develop players that I can take into future roles. During this role I gained experience in: - How to design an S&C programme catered to each individual player and the team - How to prepare athletes to perform at their maximum ability before a game and training sessions - Developing a team and individuals throughout the season without a plateau in development - Techniques on injury prevention and post injury rehabilitation and how to create rehabilitation plans based on the injury the player suffered - Performance analysis of professional cricket and how software and technology is used to analyse playing styles and how to develop strategies to win games based on footage and statistics of opposition Show less

Thoroughly enjoying working for 3 months as a Junior Sales and Procurement coordinator gave me an insight into the various running's of an international produce distributions company and gave me experience in dealing with a number of situations across the various roles I played.
