In my position as Design Engineer at CENSPACE I am responsible for the full design of all projects assigned to me. These projects include, but are not limited to, wood truss repair, timber truss design, residential remodels, damage assessment and repair and new custom home design. My main responsibilities are to assess damaged wood trusses, perform calculations and generate repair procedures. Another one of my responsibilities is to conduct full building design for new residential buildings. I conduct the structural calculations for the building's vertical load resistance components including, but not limited to, the roof sheathing, roof trusses, columns, headers, floor joists, floor trusses, floor sheathing and foundation. I also perform the structural calculations for the building's lateral load resistance components including, but not limited to, the roof sheathing (roof diaphragm), wall sheathing (wall diaphragm) and shear walls. I am also responsible for preforming structural site inspections. These inspections range from structural damage assessment, to structural modifications, to building additions. During these inspections I document the building’s framing, load paths and any existing structural damage and/or any desired structural modifications. Then I am responsible for designing all structural changes and reinforcements needed to repair any damage or accommodate any structural modifications found during the inspection.

My responsibilities consisted of project review, wood truss design, full building design and preforming building structural inspections. I would work with customers to determine a suitable structural layout to meet the customer's needs, to be cost efficient and to be structurally efficient. I was responsible for designing a wide range of buildings including but not limited to agricultural storage, livestock confinement, single family residential, multi family residential and light commercial buildings. I was responsible for the full building design using different building codes and loads from around the country. I performed the structural calculations for the building gravity resistance systems including but not limited to the roof sheathing, roof purlins, roof trusses, columns, headers, floor joists, floor trusses, floor sheathing, and foundation. I also performed the structural calculations for the building lateral load resistance systems including but not limited to the roof sheathing (roof diaphragm), wall sheathing (wall diaphragm) and shear wall design. I was also responsible for designing all connections of structural components of the buildings. During my time at Lester Building Systems I was also responsible for preforming site inspections in which I would confirm that the buildings were built as we designed them.
