One-stop Center The licensing center used to issue individual licenses to customers; their major complaint was that for a multi-organization applying for multiple licenses had to apply separately for each. Normal process to issue a license took 2 to 3 months, this caused businesses undue lag in being legal and it took numerous trips to the Capitol (Olympia) to check the status of their applications. Upon approval of the Secretary of State, DOL embarked on a 5-yr project that went 'South' for the lack of agencies collaboration due to definition of distribution of revenues application to their fund accts. - there were 26 participating agencies in the Grocery licensing isuue to business. The project completion was 20 months from delivery when the agencies reached concensus and system was deliverd on time. This center became the prototype project and after it proved viable, DOL established offices through out the state wher businesses would apply for up to 26 licenses at once and the approval time was reduced to 4 to 5 weeks. They could check on their status on-line. Show less
