      Samuel is a medical doctor holding a Master of International Public Health, a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery and a Diploma in Clinical medicine and community health. Samuel has 19 years of experience in designing, implementing, monitoring and evaluation of clinical, research and public health interventions in both government and partner funded projects. Currently, Samuel works as a Deputy Chief of Party in-charge of technical programs in a five year USAID funded TRACK-TB project implemented by MSH with partners. In this project, Samuel ensures efficiency and effectiveness of applied interventions in the areas of: urban DOTs, MDR-TB , TB/HIV, TB IC, IPT, EQA, CQI and GeneXpert implementation. Samuel also supports enhancement of NTLP leadership and technical capacity for effective TB control, DIHS II integration and coordination of DOT, TB/HIV and MDR-TB implementation among implementing partners. Samuel supports the drawing up of strategic and operational plans including project reports. Thus Samuel has knowledge, skills and experience in managing USAID funded programs as well as USAID policies and regulations.Again, Samuel has knowledge and skills in TB infection control including Building Designs and Engineering Approaches to Airborne infection Control. Samuel has a wealth of experience from the implementation of the DOTS Strategy and then the Stop TB Strategy as well as the End TB strategy that is currently recommended by WHO; initially at District (1997 to 2003) and regional (2008 to 2009) and then at National level (2009 to 2017). Samuel has had international engagements and further training in the areas of TB, pediatric TB, TB-HIV, HIV, IPT, TB IC and MDR-TB . Thus, Samuel is well abreast with current TB and HIV global and country policies including emerging MDR-TB issues (new regimens, drugs and diagnostics) and global support mechanisms (GDI, GDF, rGLC, GLI including writing of GFATM proposals.
