At FSI I took more of a design lead role for some smaller projects within King County. After receiving my PE in January 2018, Fircrest Community Center was the first large scale project I was effectively design lead on. From working with the owner in the schematic design phase, to working with equipment manufacturers to choose the perfect system type, I handled nearly all aspects of the design. This including: all domestic water calculations, plumbing modeling, heating / cooling load modeling using Trace, airflow requirements, 3D modeling using Revit 2019, cost estimating and working with other trades to bring the owner a perfect finished product. I also took an active role in marketing for the firm. I attended many after work marketing events, mixers, ACEC events, ASHRAE events, met potential clients for lunch all for the purpose of developing my business development skillset in hopes of bringing new opportunities to the firm. Joined this three year old engineering firm in October 2013. I worked closely with the company owners to complete technically sound system designs for our clients (primarily in the K-12 sector). Services provided included: HVAC design, plumbing design, controls and building automation system design, sustainability consulting, energy life cycle cost analysis, energy modeling and simulation, LEED, etc. We separated ourselves from other consultants by providing leading engineering practices coupled with quick turnaround and response times to our clients.
