Research Assistant

Oct 2015 - Sep 2017
The YPAR (Youth-led Participatory Accion Research) is a method of research development in which chosen youth participants contribute to systematic research for the benefit of their groups. I participated as a research assistant to a PhD candidate of Columbia University, who was conducting research regarding the perception of various literary elements to Third Cultured Kids (like myself). While also being part of the observation variables, I developed several methods of literary approaches and initiatives through my unique perspective. The focus of this research was also to analyze the extent to which internal cultural diversity motivates literary excellence, and ultimately develop a studying program that is personal and focused to individual growth through exploration and manipulation of alternating literary mediums. This course was ultimately approved and embedded into the curriculum of the American School of Kuwait in January 2018.
