Communication is an integral part of brands themselves, not just marketing veneer. Thus a well-chosen marketing communication strategy plays a major part in disseminating the Office’s outgoing message and helping to develop EUIPO brand awareness, which means that consumers translate information into perceptions and impacts about the Office and its position within the larger market. In this context, the CS service is also responsible for the smooth integration of the Office in the local community and for the relationship with the national and local administrations and authorities. RESPONSIBILITIES ▪ Produce a daily communication Intellectual Property Newsletter. ▪ Research, write and distribute press releases to targeted media. ▪ Collate, analyze and monitor coverage and current affairs of the Office within the media. ▪ Prepare media evaluation reports, particularly on Intellectual Property studies conducted by the European Observatory on Infringements of IP Rights to provide evidence-based data on the impact of intellectual property on the economy of the EU. ▪ Prepare, write and edit in-house magazines, case studies, speeches, briefing notes, press articles, corporate documents and official letters. ▪ Plan, develop and implement public relation strategies, while generating ideas to gain more media coverage. ▪ Monitor and calculate the Advertising Value Equivalency (AVE) as a device to measure the advantage to the Office from media coverage of public relations campaigns and actions. ▪ Support in the arrangement and organization of corporate events, interviews, official meetings, press conferences as well as other initiatives. ▪ Contribute to the development of the marketing and communication function of the Service, aiming at the promotion of the Office, in particular within the local community.
