      The JAG accredited Endoscopy department consisted of 4 procedure rooms which provided an evening service and BCSP. The sisters role was similar to my current role. The CNS role I provided was a service that was new to the Treatment Centre I was involved in the development, assessment and implementation of guidelines, pathways and protocols, arranging clinics for new and follow up patients, independently managing a small group of patients whilst working as part of the multidisciplinary team, delivering individualised and personalised patient care. Providing appropriate practice and specialist advise in assessment , planning, implementing and evaluation of patient care, this includes history taking, physical examination and the requesting of agreed diagnostic procedures/clinical investigations. Ensured that patients received high quality clinical care and a good patient experience. Facilitating high quality specialist service through monitoring and audits.

      Londond Bridge JAG accredited endoscopy unit consisted of 2 procedure rooms and provided GA service in a theatre setting. My role within the endoscopy department was based within the endoscopy procedure room, assisting with a wide variety of procedures including, OGD, Colonscopy, Flexible Sigmoidoscopy, Enteroscopy, Broncschoscopy, Endobronchial ultrasounds, Cellvisio, and ERCP. Maintaining patients airway during the procedure whilst under sedation or general anaesthesia, responsible for assessing and recognising emergencies and take appropriate action. Acting as an advocate for patients ensuring a patient orientated approach to the delivery of care to meet with standards and guidelines. Mentoring new and junior members of staff by providing education and support. Competent in performing the decontamination of the endoscopes and reporting any issues and arranging to send equipment away for repair. I was also apart of the overnight on-call service that was provided.
