Work Experience with Transport for London
-
Jun 2019 - Jun 2019
During this work experience I had the opportunity of shadowing the engineering team for the Deep Tube Upgrade Project and learnt about challenges faced by integrating new with existing systems. This project is aimed at increasing Tube capacity and will see the 94 new trains enter service on the Piccadilly, Bakerloo, Central and Waterloo & City lines between 2023-2026 and replace the current trains from the 1970s. I also had the opportunity to shadow the supervision team on the new Barking Riverside Station construction project and learnt about quality control methods and their importance. This new station aims to connect some 10,000 new homes in the largest housing development in east London with the existing Tilbury line.
