Sam Hopkins is one of the smartest people I've ever met in my entire life. His insightful analyses, in-depth knowledge, and thorough attention to detail is remarkable. He is one of those rare and unique individuals who is extremely intelligent and at the same time an excellent and top-notch communicator. Sam seeks to help others in any way he can and this is why people gravitate toward him. He is brilliant and I'm grateful I got to know him.

I have known Sam for over half his life on both a personal and professional level. During the time I have known him, I have recognized as Sam's greatest strengths 1) his ability to comprehend and mesh with foreign cultures and 2) his ability to express ideas and opinions on paper. Sam is proficient in 6 (or is it 7?) languages and learns new ones at an impressive rate. I have worked for many years as an ethnographer in China, and one summer met up with Sam while he was there on assignment. I was amazed that he had learned more Mandarin in a month than most people learn in a year. Sam uses his linguistic mastery as a tool to blend in with foreign cultures, and procure an understanding which would be otherwise inaccessible to an outsider. I have also worked with Sam in a journalistic capacity, both as an amateur (University Daily Kansan) and as a professional (Angel Publishing). Sam's writing speaks for itself. He is clear, concise, and is able to express complex ideas in a fashion which is both easily understandable and entertaining to the reader. The unique ability to take otherwise flat subjects and evolve them into exciting reads is a pattern which runs in Sam's work.

Since 2002 I've built an artistic career in parallel to my global and healthcare-oriented business pursuits, successfully managing myself as DJ Balagan (radio (KJHK-FM, Lawrence, KS), clubs, bars, etc.), Balagan (electronic music producer; work on Spotify, YouTube, iTunes, etc.), and part of groups Lo Moda (drummer), Sink (drummer), and South of Boundary (drums, vocals, keyboards). I also founded and run 34th Street Entertainment for wedding and event DJing. South of Boundary's debut EP The Magic is available on all streaming platforms and yielded top 10 dance singles and remixes. https://open.spotify.com/artist/3B4rdBWKCNuTsjgVSvsIFd
