I had the pleasure to work closely with Mr. Daher during the last few years. I believe he is one of the few leaders in the industry to be able to navigate and lead his company during very tough times successfully. He has a very strategic outlook to the business in a very innovative way and A business acumen who is inspiring to his team and yet very results driven.

A McKesson and an InterSystems partner, HBO Middle East was specialized in healthcare IT solutions, with a focus on Hospital Information Systems - along with PACS, Lab Information Systems, Blood Banking Solutions, etc. This was a learning experience that polished my understanding of the healthcare IT business and the complexity and risks and rewards that come with it. Fun, risk and rewards all bundled into one. The role required managing the relationship between GE and El Seif Development, as well as managing expectations on Saudiazation, along with overall general management of the entire P&L of Saudi Arabia. With a team that grew in time to around 20 people, we grew the business to $18.1m by offering a more solid product mix and revising pricing and go-to-market strategies across the board, reduced inventory from $500k to under $32k by implementing more efficient processes in the supply chain and logistics, reduced receivables from $9m to under $3m, oversaw the integration of the newly acquired Datex-Ohmeda into the local operation, increased anesthesia market share from 12% pre-acquisition to 42% post-acquisition, moved the P&L from the single digit to +26% operating margin, and significantly increased customer satisfaction by 10 points on the NPS scale. My first attempt at having my own business involved a number of activities, some more successful than others. Telecom security and a partnership with an international company led to a $2M project from a major telecom. September 11 impacted the outstanding receivables and the company was sold to the international partners so they can have local presence and as part of my personal exit strategy. Overall, an incredible learning experience in developing resilience. My first attempt at having my own business involved a number of activities, some more successful than others. Marquette Medical Systems is currently a GE Healthcare subsidiary fully integrated into the GE Healthcare product line. This role ran concurrently with my responsibilities as Area Manager, Central Region for Al Hikma Medical who represented Marquette Medical Systems at the time. We grew the business from around 0.7m SAR to over 97m SAR in 3 years while managing a diverse team delivering both sales and service. My first managerial role with a direct responsibility for sales and service and an eye on HR, finance, receivables, and the challenge of interfacing with product managers of the different business units who were often at odds with each other and the regional management model. From a team that is best described as dysfunctional, we transformed into a single focused cohesive unit and grew the business from 3m SAR to over 15m SAR in the first year, and closed 1999 delivering over 45m SAR in sales.
