During my PhD I worked on the identification and characterization of novel genetic determinants of arbovirus vector competence in Aedes aegypti mosquitoes. • I have optimized protocols and made all the tools to perform a large-scale knockdown screen in Aedes aegypti cells, targeting ~500 RNA-binding proteins followed by virus infection. • I have helped to set-up a brand-new Biosafety Level (BSL)-III mosquito laboratory and start-up the rearing of Aedes aegypti mosquitoes. • I managed many scientific projects, from which resulted in three articles, one of which is published at Plos Pathogens and two that are currently in preparation for submission. • My research has been presented in many conferences and meetings, from which in 2019 I received the best scientific pitch award from the Netherland Centre for One Health (NCOH). • I had the opportunity to supervise a Master`s students and to also collaborate with several (inter)national colleagues from other research groups. Mass spectrometry fragmentation tree library using MS-MS(-MS) on a Q-TOF. • I had the opportunity to learn how to handle independently a high resolution Q-TOF. • I fragmented a big set of molecules, interpreted the obtained fragmentation patterns and made fragmentation schemes. Finally, I also constructed a library to allow easier future identifications and identified laws or common fragmentation patterns based on the analyzed compounds.
