Junior Clinical Training Scholar
-
Jul 2009 - Nov 2011
At the University of Bristol, I undertook two internships. The first of these was a Junior Clinical Training Scholarship in Small Animal Medicine and Surgery, with a particular focus on intensive care and out of hours provision, with approximately 30% of the time spent amongst the surgical team. I was given the responsibility of my own cases, and communication with owners and veterinary surgeons. The second internship was a year studying anaesthesia and pain management especially in relation to surgical cases. As a vet with a surgical bias, this helped me to understand how actions as a surgeon can influence pain and anaesthesia, and the best methods to overcome/pre empt this. Show less
