I am incredibly grateful that during these uncertain times of a global pandemic, Valley Medical Center has allowed many of my cohort the opportunity to practice the skills we have learned throughout our program. I have been able to perform full post surgical intakes and discharges, administer medications orally, subcutaneous injection, via IV piggyback and IV push, programmed IV pumps, removed IVs, provided wound care, and removed JP drains. During my tenure at Comfort Keepers I have provided dementia care, hospice care, light housekeeping, cooking, transportation, and most importantly friendship to my clients while maintaining a professional distance. Several clients have been willing to change their preferred times just so they can have my compassion and care over someone else's at the company. • Apr 2016 - Feb 2018

While my official title is Patient Care Coordinator, my duties over the last year have been varied. In addition to my PCC duties of scheduling patients, collecting copays, answering a multi-line phone, and verifying insurances. I have acquired more of an office manager role with my never ending side projects to improve the safety and functionality of the office, creating and managing multiple PT/MT/PTA/aide schedules, ordering office supplies, submitting time sheets and time off requests. • Jun 2013 - Oct 2015

During my tenure at Incyte, we went through a software change. Prior to the change which occurred in September of 2014, my responsibilities two days a week included accessioning specimens for the P.A., checking data entry by hand and fixing any errors. On average three days a week before the implementation of 1LIS and every day after its install my duties were to set up my work area for grossing, gross the specimens as they came in, place specimens on the tissue processors, block checking cassettes from partner hospitals against a log of received blocks, remove specimens from tissue processors and place them in an embedding unit for the histotechnologists, answer any questions the accessioning department had on my specimens, dump formalin and clean my area when finished. Once a week I also had to follow correct procedures to dispose of two week old specimens and vials in proper biohazard bags and containers with the weight noted. Show less

As any parent of a child with Autism will tell you, it's a lot of work to raise them happy and healthy. It's extremely stressful and all parents whether partners or single deserve and need a break. As a respite care provider I gave the parents a much needed break, while providing them with peace of mind knowing their child or children were in safe and educated hands. I took care of meals including any dietary restrictions. I also administered any necessary medications.
