As part of the white spot emergency response community engagement team I gained experience in both internal and external stakeholder engagement. My primary tasks were to translate scientific and legislative information for the lay person and broaden the network of key stakeholders for the project. I built relationships with councils from the Sunshine Coast to the NSW border and presented information in a formal environment. Stakeholder engagement included presenting to large groups of people at club meetings and retail outlets ass well as to council members. Feedback from community engagement work was collected and provided to the corporate communications team for strategy planning. To increase productivity and ease of documentation I implemented a mapping system and photo documented locations of signage for the response whilst increasing our stakeholder network. Show less
