Senior staff position responsible for general oversight of the financial, administrative and operational affairs of the Foundation. Working with the Artistic Director, develops operational and project budgets, monitors revenues and expenses, and works with bookkeeper, auditor, Treasurer and bank to administer the Foundation's finances. Oversees management of the office and supervises seasonal and contract staff (ad sales, vendor and volunteer coordinators, summer interns, etc). Oversees event and festival logistics (permits, insurance, signage, vendors/suppliers, etc), manages venue contracts/agreements, and liaises with venues on general production, box office, front of house, security and related matters. Collaborates with the AD in developing and implementing marketing and publicity campaigns, and in creating the festival schedule, delivering festival program book, coordination of program evaluation (i.e. audience surveys), and overall execution of the organization’s mandate and strategic plan. The MD assists with developing fundraising plans, donor/sponsor stewardship, providing relevant portions of grant submissions (i.e. statistics, budgets), managing data and coordination of fundraising/donor events, Reports to the Board of Directors, works with the Board chair in coordinating agendas, minutes, meeting times/locations, and is the staff representative on the Board’s Finance and Hospitality Committees.
