I am a doctoral prepared advanced practice nurse, specializing in psychiatric/ mental health nursing. I am certified by the American Nurse Credentialing Center and the Minnesota Board of Nursing to provide psychiatric evaluations, medication management and counseling to my clients. I am currently practicing in a large Minneapolis area outpatient private practice and have an area of interest in perimenapausal and perinatal women's mental health issues, and women with mood disorders. Additionally, I am a clinical supervisor in the outpatient setting for graduate nursing students and provide continuing education for the multidisciplinary team at Nystrom and Associates. In my doctoral program I designed, implemented and evaluated an employee wellness program. The evaluation criteria explored the connected between wellness behaviors and job satisfaction and employee burnout. I have since been able to incorporate many of the wellness strategies in a Mental Health and Nutrition program designed to help the patients in our clinic. This program has helped patients achieve weight loss, decrease medications, improve sleep and overall quality of life.
