As a 6th Grade Math Teacher currently serving the Ann Arbor community, I use my expertise to support my students while they develop mathematical knowledge and skills aligned with Common Core State Standards. I work to identify the unique needs of each student, activate a wide variety of prior knowledge, and then intentionally design the scaffolds necessary to guide them toward building their own understanding of the mathematical concepts they're ready to learn next. In this role, I have: -utilized provided course curriculum and personal teaching style to design engaging lesson plans and assessments. -differentiated activities and assessments with Special Education professionals to meet the needs of a diverse population of learners. -collaborated with grade level, building, and district teams to ensure consistency and fidelity when designing and delivering instruction. I believe that all learners are capable of growth, and that education is the gateway through which individuals create the lives they wish to lead. I am honored to support those on their own unique educational journeys. Show less

My time with Port Huron Schools was spent as a 6th Grade Math & ELA teacher, a 7th Grade Math Teacher, an Assessment Coordinator, and even an interim Athletic Director. My professional career began in Port Huron, where I was exposed to many different roles and developed an innumerable amount of skills that have shaped me into the hard-working, dedicated, and personable professional that I am. During my time at Fort Gratiot Middle School, I: -utilized various curriculum programs, online education tools, Learning management systems, and electronic devices. -trained and supported building staff in preparation and proctoring of state mandated standardized testing as the Assessment Coordinator. -aided in the selection of a new Math curriculum and presented said curriculum to the Board of Education. -supported school-wide behavior expectations as an active member of the Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) team -substituted for Athletic Director on an as-needed basis; managed various responsibilities for athletic events. I will always be grateful for the opportunity to begin my professional journey in Port Huron Schools, and I am looking forward to everything that comes next. Show less
