Samantha is one of my favorite supervisors that I have had the pleasure to work with. She is a genuine, passionate individual who goes above and beyond in whatever she does. One of my favorite things about working with Samantha is that she is very intentional in making sure her staff get the proper training they need to succeed. She knows how to create effective systems that help a center flourish, and she has the ability to clearly communicate and put those systems in place without coming off as harsh or abrasive. She does set high expectations, but she is direct and transparent with what she needs, and she doesn't let anyone drown in confusion. She is the type of supervisor who will get to an employees' level, and will walk with them in their professional development. She is the type of supervisor who will seek to understand a situation before even considering pointing fingers and/or placing blame. She leads by example and shows staff that it is okay to make mistakes along the way, and she encourages people to see those mistakes as opportunities. Samantha is very clear with her instructions and does a good job of modeling tasks. She makes sure that she provides a way for any type of learner (visual, auditory, verbal), and ensures that she makes herself available to answer questions. If she does not know the answer to a question, she does not hesitate to find out the correct answer within a reasonable time. Additionally, the same treatment Samantha gives the staff, she also gives the families we serve. She does not shy away from a "special" or "difficult" interpersonal relationship, and she makes a conscious effort to best help those in need with the available resources while still abiding to the rules the company. Samantha is an advocate for the families, and it is very clear in her interactions with the students and with the parents, that there is a level of trust and respect. I, myself, appreciate Samantha, and am very grateful for the opportunities she has provided me. In the five months we have worked together, she has already helped me work on professional goals I already had in mind for myself, and has given me the chance to explore new ones I didn't think were within my realm of abilities. Samantha has encouraged me when I felt discouraged, and has made an effort, and taken the time, to teach me new things within my role, and outside the scope of it. She has shown me what it means to appreciate the "growing pains," and has been a great support and mentor. Samantha is the type of employee any company would be lucky to have, and I am very fortunate to have the chance to work with her.
