Through this internship, I volunteered at beach clean ups, observed city meetings in which green initiatives were discussed, and worked directly with the arborist. Over the course of the summer, I performed a land suitability analysis for 20 neighborhoods in Fort Lauderdale. The goal of this project was to determine which neighborhoods needed more trees and where the new trees could be planted. For this project I used arcGIS, iTree, and Microsoft Excel to organize all of the data, as well as to compare the existing data to the new data.
