A 5 month internship with BitC, an independent business led charity whose purpose is to inspire, engage, support and challenge companies, to continually improve the impact they have on society.Responsibilities: Reviewing and assessing the CR Index (2009) entrants and company benchmarking. Analysing results for trend analysis, best practice to be published in the (June 2010) Financial Times. Presenting findings to senior management and working alongside researchers and account managers.Skills Gained: Excellent team working skills and flexibility to carry out a number of roles during a very busy period. Research, presentation and communication skills were vital for this role and I learnt the importance of leadership and advocacy with regards CSR. I also helped provide the information for the ‘Responsible Business – Financial Times’ 2010 article during the research and trend analysis process of this internship. I learnt the importance of respect and professionalism by adapting my approach and behaviour around different members of the organisation. Perseverance especially as this was a voluntary position whereby I exceeded my own expectations and achieved rewarding recognition and experience for it.
