Feb 2019 - Present
I work with a variety of clients to achieve positive coverage for them in the press, whether online, in print, or across radio and TV. The bulk of my work includes regular contact with clients, finding out if they have anything happening that's worth promoting or suggesting ideas directly to them, writing press releases about what they've got going on, and building relationships with journalists who will then use those releases in their titles. Trainee Reporter at the Leamington Courier
-
Jul 2015 - Apr 2018
Worked as a trainee reporter at the Leamington Courier newspaper. Wrote hundreds of articles relating to all kinds of news in the paper's patch. I regularly had to write incisive, accurate copy to strict deadlines, conduct sensitive or robust interviews depending on the story, attend council meetings and court hearings, and also had to have an eye for a photo and video. Built up my journalistic skills and portfolio while training for my NQJ qualification.
