Coleman Rail are a preferred Rail Installation Contractor for Yarra Trams, preforming various possession / shut-down & Major Infrastructure Up-Grades.My primary roles included fabrication of special works through Yarra Trams & the installation of this infrastructure through Coleman Rail on the Yarra Tram Network. This gave me exposure to all aspects of Track Construction from concept to completion.   Yarra Trams is the largest Light Rail Network in the world, consisting of over 250km of double track, 700 tram stops, 450 Trams & 9 Depots. 75% of the network operates on shared roads with other vehicles & ferries over 200 million passenger per year. As such, they have a very demanding maintenance schedule, conducted in a fashion to limit disturbance.Seconded from Coleman Rail to Yarra Trams, my primary role was to carry out final design checks on special works & then lead fabrication. Special works included turn-outs, cross-overs, scissor cross-overs, intersections including H-crossings & double switches.
