Manchester and Salford University Air Squadron is a reserve aspect of the RAF, it provides training to current students in the Manchester universities. on the squadron I have had the privilege to engage in charity work, sports competitions, the chance to improve qualifications both academically and in outdoor activities such as rock climbing and sailing.it also provides and encourages leadership and responsibility, my current role is the Cadet In Charge of flying, this means it is my responsibility to provide flying opportunities every week to around 10 students, and during the summer I must organise over 60 students. i do this through communication with the staff and other students.

Grade 1 Flying Instructor

Apr 2012 - Sep 2014
After many hours of training I became qualified to instruct Air Cadets, on how to fly. this was both on the ground in a class room environment but also in an aircraft. when in the air it was a more pressurised environment, so it become more of a challenge to complete the task of training the student but also to concentrate on all other aspects of flight, such as where you are, radios and other aircraft in the vicinity. this was one of the best experiences of my life, not only because if pushed and challenged me, but because I was able to help and teach others, which I think I a privilege.
