Peregrine Fraser
Sam was a welcome addition to the team. It was a tough role that required breadth, good organisation and a can-do attitude. He especially brought his technical knowledge and rigour to develop our design and quoting processes. He also challenged us to think differently and was recognised with an Innovation Award for his trouble!

Running local 3D Print Hub and acting as a catalyst for the 3D print industry bringing it into the present and making it accessible for the local community. Being a Senior Designer for Lumicity and developing 3D scheme designs and renders gives me the skills I need to not only print clients designs, but design them myself. I should note this is just a side hobby from my normal day job at Lumicity which is my main career role. www.3dhubs.com/bristol/hubs/bristol3dprint Running local 3D Print Hub and acting as a catalyst for the 3D print industry bringing it into the present and making it accessible for the local community. Senior Designer/Engineer

Aug 2011 - Feb 2016
Energy-Efficient Agricultural Buildings: Holistic design of energy-efficient poultry sites involving a range of new technologies including biomass, solar, rainwater harvesting, ventilation systems and sizing these accordingly. My responsibilities as the sole designer include complete scheme design of the sites in liaison with clients and project management through the planning process dealing with a range of consultants and the local authority to ensure planning approval (100% track record). Producing “Designs of the Future” and generating innovation in the agricultural construction industry. Biomass: Helped towards the world's biggest biomass deal to date (179 boilers, 32MW) from conception to completion. Planning drawing packs for both permitted development and full planning applications, including site layout plans, 2D elevational drawings, 3D models, HD rendered images and video flyovers. Detailed site surveys to aid optimal boiler housing design. Fuel usage and savings calculations. RHI consultation, accreditation and periodic data submission. I solely manage and work closely with OFGEM for all 179 RHI accreditations. Solar Barns: Developed a very efficient in-house quote process and optimal standard building sizes for discounted agricultural buildings, drawings for planning, foundation drawings for use on-site, graphics for website/brochures, site visits, costings using Projex. Solar Farms (100MW+): Produce drawings suitable for leases and exclusivity agreements also used in planning applications. Water, gas and grid location plans, flood risk plans, 2D and 3D modelling of sites, including shading analyses. Extensive mapping of UK for site acquisition and qualification. Site visits. Grid applications for Microgeneration and large multi-MW generation. Wind: As above. Use of ArcGIS for mapping of important wind criteria such as NATS data, NOABL wind speeds for use in finding new sites and qualifying sites. Show less
