I presented Sam with a big problem- I simply didnt know what to put on the cover of my book as it was nearing completion earlier in 2012. I was so close to the subject matter and had hundreds of possibilites- I couldnt even begin to decide what the cover should look like. I had spent so long writing the book that the cover was beyond me. Sam was great- I told her about the book and the subject matter (a social history about working men's clubs) over a coffee, showed her some photos and sent over some more. She did a basic design rightaway which I liked a lot. We played around with it a little bit but the final result was not very different to her initial idea. She just got it straightaway! Sam is really easy to work with and I am very happy with the result. Everyone who has read the book has commented favourably on the cover design. One person commented how it made them feel like they were going into their own club. Exactly what I wanted!
