I managed all aspects of the BPM's business in WA. I led the development of our key Marine Fauna Observer Induction and Training Programmes for major offshore oil and gas developments, such as the Gorgon and Wheatstone LNG projects; as well as managed our teams of contractors working to provide mitigation and monitoring services on these projects. My other duties included: developing and maintaining client relationships, project tenders, project management, and looking after our staff and contractors. My core projects included working as part of the marine mammal consortium on the Fehmarnbelt Fixed Link EIA Project, where I was both team leader for the visual survey data analysis, and also project manager for all of SMRU Ltd's input. I worked successfully for many years as an independent expert in marine mammals, providing advice and research services to a range of clients in NZ. During this time I appeared at a number of consent hearings as well as Environment Court hearings as an expert witness.
