Sam and I worked together as partners through a very difficult period at Kindheart, a surgical simulation company in Chapel Hill, NC. I was Chairman of the Board, Sam was President and CEO. His team building and team leadership skills, together with an extraordinary ability to maintain his composure under pressure and find creative solutions to tough problems got the company through financing issues, covid shut-down, potentially catastrophic cash flow issues (zero revenue due to covid) and got us out the other side to an excellent outcome for all: customers, suppliers, employees, and shareholders. His personal and professional integrity are exceptional. I would share a life raft with Sam in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, he's that good.

I worked closely with Sam at times on our common portfolio company, Aseptia. Sam is quite sharp and could always be counted on to identify the details that mattered and ask the tough questions. He would also step back and provide sage guidance on the general strategy. Sam is a pleasure to work with and I would highly recommend him.
