As my mentor and teacher in Citizen Film's New Jewish Filmmaker Project, Sam inspired me to see documentary filmmaking as art about, above all else, people. As long as there are cameras and people in front of them, a good film maker and artist can find a story worth telling. Sam showed me what being that good filmmaker meant: having a good ear, a good eye and a great deal of patience and persistence.
