A passionate team player and manager, I have seen Sally grow over the years in various HR and Training Manager roles into a highly respected leader. She has assisted me in multiple projects at two hotels with a hands-on approach and has been my trusted first preference. Never says no even when the challenges ahead are monumental. I have respected this rare quality of hers and I’m sure the whole team benefited from her as our HR Manager. Sally’s assistance during hosting of the APEC leaders at the Grand Papua Hotel was highly appreciated by the whole team. I would highly recommend Sally and look forward to seeing her grow further in her career.

I had the pleasure to work with Sally Laka Alu as our Human Recourse Manager at the Grand Papua Hotel. I found her to be consistently pleasant, active and joyful personality - very well respected by the staff, superiors and management team, with a humble and warm approach towards others. She is a hard-working self-starter who invariably understands the work and how to get it done quickly and effectively with passion, creativity and continues strive perfection within the department. Sally is a wonderful team player and would make a great asset to any organization.

My teaching career began at this girls Vocational School with students who had a second chance in pursuing their education. Responsible in teaching Tourism and Hospitslity in National Certificate 2&3 for 2nd and 3rd year students. I was the class matron for 3rd year students. For me to be a certified instructor i had to be inspected and will pass if i did well. Thinking of the location of the area i had to inspire this students some how so i decided to do my practically cooking for assessment to be sone by the Vocational Inspector: Late Anna Apa, speacial dish prepared and planned (Shepherds Pie)and was cooked on open fire, firewood and home tailored ovens. Empowed my students and told them that you can cook a delicious meal at home with your local food with what i just did for my assessment. I was than a registered teacher😊. Hosted with the students catering for NRI and board meetings at school, sports day, etc. Took alot of extra time coaching and mentoring students to have them to be successfull and resourceful. Was an amazing start and experience. Also took lead in TVET show and had a stall put up for students to cool and show case skills learnt. Show less
