For this job I had varying roles which included me organising files in order for them to be well organised and easily accessible. I would also attend group sessions, including activity sessions and just a coffee and a chat, and talk with the individuals who were suffering form various mental health illnesses and at various levels. I was required to listen and understand the individuals and if there was anything that is seen as worrying, to inform my employer who would then ensure that they are safe and okay, and if they needed further help. I also worked as a befriender which involved me phoning numerous individuals who may have difficulty leaving their homes or could not travel to the centre, and chat to them on the phone about any worries or issues they may have, as well as a general chat to allow them to speak to someone.
