  I have been a qualified nurse for nearly 30 years. I have gained experience in the following areas-orthopaedic theatre, ENT, private sector-care homes, stroke/medicine,surgical rotation programme and community where I have been based for the last 15 years. I find every day is different within a community setting and I enjoy the challenges that this work environment brings. My main interests within my work environment are palliative care,continence and wound care. I have recently achieved the Queens Nurse title for my contributions for better patient centred care. I also manage a Continence Clinic for the locality where I am based which covers 5 GP surgeries, on a one day monthly basis. I am also an accredited Royal College of Nursing Learning Representative which aims to help/support colleagues and employers with regard to training/learning programmes . I would like to be involved in or create a multi-disciplinary team within the community setting for end of life patients. To deliver personalised care, patient centred/family support ,symptom control. In that the nursing/social care management would be assessed, implemented and evaluated by a structured team, giving care 24/7. Show less
