I was a TA for a graduate level mechatronics elective class at UCF. I prepared presentation slides, projects, and hardware kits that would allow students to participate in the class remotely. Worked with graduate and undergraduate students to test piezoelectric patches made from a ceramic called lead zirconate titanate, or PLZT. The intended use of the patches was for energy harvesting and for vibrational analysis of turbomachinery. We built the patches and tested various methods of applying them, then collected measurements using LabVIEW from a cantilevered beam test bench. The patches were then tested on a machine that we designed and built that was meant to simulate the… Show more Worked with graduate and undergraduate students to test piezoelectric patches made from a ceramic called lead zirconate titanate, or PLZT. I worked as an intern for a project called 'Ciudad Alegría', or 'City of Joy'. This was a relief effort being provided to various local communities of people living in an undeveloped region between Panama and Colombia known as the Darién Gap. Many of the houses there were destroyed due to flooding in 2012. Mundo Solar S.A. aided these communities by designing, shipping and constructing hundreds of modular wooden houses to replace the ones ravaged by the flood. I assisted contractors and… Show more I worked as an intern for a project called 'Ciudad Alegría', or 'City of Joy'.
