Developing an algorithm to reduce collision check time for robots in dynamic environments. This work expands upon previous research done at ARC lab - Fastron. It identifies a small set of points to represent the configuration-space collision boundaries and can replace current memory-intensive dense representations. We are expanding this algorithm to complex dynamic environments. Developing an algorithm to reduce collision check time for robots in dynamic environments. I worked with my founding team to take a class project to a serious startup where it is at now. I played a key role on the business as well as the technical front. On the business front, we have achieved multiple milestones including submitting a patent (currently pending), completing over 5 incubators/accelerators, and winning a prize at the UCSD Design competition. I worked with multiple entrepreneurs/scientists/mentors/investors and also helped set up strategic company relations with other businesses and entities. On the technical front, I worked on - firmware for the shoe insole - company's core iOS app - PCB for the shoe insole - backend architecture for the iOS app Show less

I was the TA for ECE 140A and ECE 140B - "The Art of Product Engineering" This class teaches students skills required in the fields of software and full-stack engineering and business skills required to build a commercial product. Students had to build an end-to-end interaction platform (website) for a Tello drone. As a TA, I helped build part of the end-to-end system and machine learning-based application for students to work with (identifying specified objects while flying). Students also designed their own products and I provided them feedback on how their tech idea translates to the real world and helped them understand the differences between a project and a product. Introduction to Autonomous Vehicles class Tutor (ECE/MAE 148)
-
Jan 2019 - Jun 2020
"Intro to Autonomous Vehicles" teaches students the fundamentals of building an end-to-end system with an integrated deep-learning-based application. Students build a small-scale car from scratch and train a deep learning model to allow the car to drive autonomously. As the tutor for the class of 30, I answered students' questions on all aspects of the build including rapid prototyping, circuit building, programming in linux, training, testing, and modifying a neural network in tensorflow. I also helped the professor in developing the class' curriculum in the fields of computer vision, machine learning, robotics system integration, odometry, and ROS. Show less

Being a part of the leadership team, I contributed to the driving force that lead PiB to become one of the most impactful student organizations at UCSD. On a day-to-day basis, I managed the internal logistics, hosted community-development events, recruited talent, lead public-facing events. I also worked with the other leaders and the department chair to develop ways to improve the organization's impact on the student population. - Lead, mentored and managed 8 teams (40 students in total) to build an autonomous RC car from scratch and compete in a Robotics competition. - Hosted monthly workshops to teach circuit design, pcb development, PID control algorithm development, CAD - Worked with a team to plan and organize UCSD's very first Robotfest (Inter-university Robotics competition) where teams compete with their robots that they built from scratch.
