  Lahooti is a non-profit initiative by The Sketches that intends to revive and promote traditional musical instruments, which symbolize different provinces of Pakistan and create a synergy of different cultures and genres of folk and world music, that would otherwise be lost. As the Founder, I am required to: - Provide visionary leadership, including strategic direction and financial sustainability of Lahooti. - I am responsible for the organization's vision statement, policies, three-year rolling strategic plan, annual business plan, annual budget, and ongoing operational & finance reports. - Oversee scheduling and setup to facilitate, capture and broadcast requirements for digital specific projects such as Lahooti Live Sessions. - Build and nurture relationships with audiences, communities, partners, funders, and other stakeholders. - Stimulate and promote excellence and innovation in Lahooti's events and projects, including the biggest international folk and world music festival of Pakistan, Lahooti Melo. - Play an advocacy and ambassadorial role for Lahooti locally, provincially, and internationally. - Contribute to and play a leading role within the local arts and cultural community sector and, at times, act as spokesperson for the sector, to the community at-large. - Manage Lahooti's resources – human, financial and physical – so as to strengthen the organization's pre-eminent role the current environment. - Ensure the critical relationships with the Government of Sindh and relevant agencies are maintained to the best degree possible. - Develop and maintain private foundation, government and community sponsorships and partnerships. - Ensure effective recruitment, orientation, training and development of staff and volunteers. - Develop a culture that promotes respect and teamwork, builds loyalty, drives engagement, ignites creativity, and maximizes potential and appeals to outside talent.   I began my musical journey in 2001 with the benefit of understanding of distinct, mystic folk sounds that had an everlasting impression on my auditory perception. This quality helped me shape the identity of The Sketches in its organic sense. Our first album, Dastakari, which was acclaimed as a breath of fresh air amid the mainstream music of Pakistan. Our unique approach towards Sufi Music not only helped us to empower indigenous musicians and artists, but also to empower people of these lands to stand up for their rights, be it education, honoring their land or claiming their traditional culture values to unite for a collective cause. The Sketches have been successful in creating a personal philosophy, which allows us to liberate music from its conventional understanding. Our music intends to educate the young generation about their ancestors, taking their wisdom and acting on it in the present, and for the women and girl-child, our strings intend to build a safe land where they are free to hope and dream again. We released our second album "You" in 2016 that celebrates tranquility and bliss within petite moments that are very much evaded in today's world. Preserving the ancient beauty of Sufi sound and nourishing fusion arts and poetry, I firmly believe in displaying a captivating impression of Pakistan's music and culture, through our unsparing initiative of social activism. Our third album, Saanjhi evokes the culture and landscape of the motherland – the vast desolate barren hills, the night sky, spaced out singular trees in the distance, the stillness during sunrise, the setting of the sun on the horizon and wreaths swinging in the warm breeze.
