Research Assistant
-
Sep 2015 - Aug 2018
• Administered a student organization which was established to introduce engineering students to trenchless technology and to forge relationships between industry and academia.• Collaborated with a multi-disciplinary team to design and build a large-scale fluid loop to simulate the fluid flow behavior during HDD construction. I was in charge of design drafting using AutoCAD and saved 15% on the budget by replacing a key segment with acrylic material.• Carried out a laboratory test by modifying a triaxial cell to simulate the formation of filter cake in HDD annulus to study the effect of filter cake on borehole stability.• Conducted a comprehensive research program on the drilling fluid properties used in horizontal directional drilling (HDD). The study focused on laboratory test on different drilling fluids to investigate the effect of their rheological properties on hole cleaning performance in HDD annulus.
