- Developed a robust numerical model to compute propagation of sound under the influence of atmospheric and urban topological effects. - Conducted long-term experiments (over 12 months) to monitor effect of wind on sound propagation in cities, involving a lot of pre-planning and hands-on project management. - Implemented statistical algorithms to filter out unwanted noise on huge samples of data from the experiments. - Handled tutorial classes for the course Urban Acoustics for 3 years, assisting students to plan and carry out noise measurements in the city themselves. - Created and supervised 1 Bachelor and 2 Master students’ projects with focus on numerical development of noise prediction models and analysis of experimental data. - Studied the process of pump design and manufacturing according to the customer's requirements of efficiency and head output. - Designed single stage centrifugal pumps using an in-house design tool, according to standard input design parameters. - Improved the mesh configuration used for CFD calculations of flow around the impeller of a pump, by doing a parameter study. - Improved the efficiency and head of 3 families of pump with specific speeds of 30, 50 and 80 1/min. Developed analytical design methodologies to achieve this improvement. - Developed a methodology to detect wrong incident angles of the flow hitting the pump's impeller. - Maintained documentation of pump's performance from both simulations and production. - Built a design tool in Matlab that generates 2-D airfoil profiles for turbomachinery blades for aerodynamic parameters. - Optimised the design of gas turbine blades aerodynamically, using CFD simulations and an in-house developed optimizing algorithm.
